According to Michael Dregni in the book _Django_, "...a refinement of Dizzy's proto-bop tune "Be Bop" from the mid-1940s and one of Django's most exciting songs ever. It was both old and new, a _modernistique_ bebop rendition of 'Les yeux noirs.'"
